Family Sessions

The photographs that become favorites are often the ones that reveal how a family actually belongs together.

A hand resting on a shoulder. The child who refuses to stand still. The look between two people who have known each other for years. The group portrait everyone will eventually want a copy of.

Family sessions balance composed portraiture with natural interaction, creating both the photograph for the wall and the photographs that tell the fuller story of the season you are in.

Sessions can take place at home, outdoors or in a location that already means something to your family.

Maternity

There is a strange in-between quality to the months before a child arrives: your family has already changed, even though the new person is not quite here yet.

Maternity sessions are designed to preserve that transition without overcomplicating it. Philip focuses on understated portraiture, connection and form - photographs that feel intimate and specific rather than overly styled.

The result is a quiet record of the anticipation, the relationship and the version of your family that existed just before someone new joined it.

Fresh 48

The first days are full of things you assume you will remember forever - how small they looked in your arms, the hospital bracelet, the way siblings first approached the bassinet, the exhaustion and disbelief of meeting someone you already love.

Fresh 48 sessions document those hours with a light footprint. No elaborate setup. No attempt to turn the room into something it is not. Just thoughtful photographs of your family at the very beginning of something new.

These sessions are especially meaningful as the first chapter in a longer family archive.

On The Family Land

Some family histories are inseparable from a place. A ranch that has been in the family for generations. The house where everyone gathers. A gate, barn, porch or stand of trees that means something because of everything that has happened around it.

These sessions are designed for families gathering on ranches, farms and rural properties around Bryan/College Station. Philip comes to the land and builds a complete visual record of the gathering: the full family, individual households, grandparents with grandchildren, siblings, couples and the smaller moments happening between formal portraits.

The pace is intentionally unhurried. The property is part of the story. The result is a set of photographs that preserves both who was there and the place everyone came back to.

An elderly woman and man standing at the open doorway of a brick building, holding hands. The woman is wearing a white lace dress and the man is in a navy suit with a pink tie. The woman is holding a bouquet of flowers and smiling, while the man is also smiling. The scene appears to be a special occasion, possibly a wedding or celebration.

Legacy Generation Portaits Start at $625

Legacy Portraits.

There comes a point when the people who have always been part of the family story deserve to become the subject of it.

Legacy Portraits are centered on grandparents, elders and the people who carry the family's history. They can be as simple as a beautifully made portrait or as expansive as a documentary session built around a couple, a home, a workshop, a piece of land or the routines that have defined a life together.

The purpose is not nostalgia for nostalgia's sake. It is to make the photographs future generations will be grateful exist.

Portraits of the people. Details of the place. Hands, objects, expressions and relationships that say more with time, not less.

Let’s capture some moments.
