Hi, I’m Philip.
The longer I photograph people, the more interested I become in what remains.
About Philip
Philip Winham is a photographer based in College Station, Texas, whose work centers on the photographs that eventually become part of a family's history.
His career has moved through portraiture, weddings, commercial photography and creative direction, but his work in heirloom portraiture has become one of its defining threads.
Drawing from historic portrait traditions, Philip developed a refined contemporary approach to children's heirloom photography - honoring what has made the format endure while reconsidering how it can look, feel and live in a modern home.
That work eventually led somewhere unexpected: education. As other photographers began asking about the process, Philip started teaching the approach behind the portraits - from the technical craft to the experience and business model surrounding it. That work ultimately developed into Troveman, Philip's education platform for photographers.
Across all of it, the philosophy remains remarkably simple: the best photographs should have a life beyond the day they are made. They should be printed, framed, lived with and passed down.
Because a photograph is not finished when it is delivered. It is finished when it becomes part of the family.
Let’s capture some moments.
